untold history

This book had some smashing information especially the blackness confederates. It's not about race as many today deem it to be. It'due south part of this state history! You need to go into this book as a "dry sponge" and have in history you lot may not know. A very slap-up heed.

Say what y'all desire, Johnson does a keen job

What did you love best about The Politically Incorrect Guide to the South (and Why it Will Ascent Again)?

I was pleased to come across some very positive reviews from the N East on this title, and very disappointed to see the negative review from my abode state of SC (most probable from a W.J. Cash fan). Stated, I purchased the book and enjoyed the first chapter immensely. Having grown upwards in the culture, Johnson nailed it down solid in that chapter. Also, having to have spent a fair amount of time in NY and NJ, he also pegged the shared view that many of united states who have had to do business in that location, share. Regardless of where you at from in the globe, this is neat volume for understanding why true Southerners think the way they do. Deo Vindice forever and God save the Southward!

What other book might you compare The Politically Wrong Guide to the South (and Why information technology Volition Ascension Over again) to and why?

The South Was Correct and some of the short essays from Dr. Hill's library on Golden Circle culture.

Which character – equally performed by Dianna Dorman – was your favorite?

She's skillful - a little metered, merely easy to listen to and I enjoy her vocal fashion.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line exist?

"The Lost Cause - that once was Lost, only now is Establish"

Whatever additional comments?

Brilliant volume - excellent

Tubby Bearded Guy reference earned an extra star

I have to be careful when writing this review because Clint Johnson was a friend and classmate of mine at the University of Florida. As a fan of mystery/thrillers I found this book a little difficult to get through at times. Just I did learn some interesting stuff. I didn't know Lincoln tried to recolonize slaves to other countries afterwards the war. I didn't know the Emancipation Proclamation primarily freed slaves only in Confederate States. I learned I can now refer to Clint every bit a TBG (Tubby Bearded Guy) because he participates in Civil War reenactments. At times the book seemed somewhat anecdotal but knowing how tediously Clint researches his cloth I feel confident that it is fact based. I got somewhat of an eerie feeling knowing that the ultra left has kicked up its attempt to rewrite history since this book was written a decade ago. Clint was very prescient in having a feel of what was to come in this expanse. I could take washed without the two or 3 seemingly interminable listings of colleges and universities that were ranked highly and located in the Southward. Lists mostly do non were well in audio books. I also grew a fleck weary of hearing about books and movies I'm non supposed to read or sentry without really knowing why. Presumably they cast the South in a more positive calorie-free that y'all might expect (or the Due north in a less positive ane). If I was a Southern history buff, this volume would have generated five stars. One final caution. A volume you lot're not supposed to read: "The Politically Incorrect Guide to the South (and Why information technology Will Ascension Once more), written by Clint Johnson, release date:01-xi-07, Publisher: Blackstone Audio, Inc.

big lie lives on.

pitiful. very sad. if a poor reader believes this hogwash... one is to believe that the old due south was made america. that the old south was a pleasant time and identify. nevermind slaves and the evil done. nevermind that southern conferate states constitutions stated slavery forever. the south could accept ended slavery but chose to battle, die for it. they got what they deserved as God stood with the north, not with the s.

Could not make information technology pass the first two chapter

I'm not a fan how the book starts out. I idea information technology would have more facts rather opinions on why the s is so great. I live in the south I love the s and I concord that it is great. However, statements should take more facts to back up them. Like I said I did not arrive laissez passer the first two capacity. So many it gets better simply not for me.

I'm from the north

I'm from the north and growing upward learning about slavery in Massachusetts was a anarchism and I knew it wasn't right then I did a niggling searching and decided to wait at some other betoken of view and got a lot of answers that were for the most office very similiar to what I thought. Great Volume!
